Volunteers

My MP, Neil Carmichael, has recently advertised for a volunteer in his constituency office. I have written approx. 5 pieces of correspondence to him on different issues, and am yet to receive a response on any. I was prompted to write a letter to our local press.

I have seen that our MP is advertising for an unpaid volunteer for his constituency office. One of the expected roles is ‘drafting responses to constituents’. Is this because he doesn’t manage to do it himself?

I was published two weeks ago on the closure of a local school over which Mr. Carmichael has let down the local community, and apparently ‘touched a nerve’ in his office. We shall see if this gets published and maybe prompts my local MP to act on his nerves.
